This is the first in a series of small, connected illustrations I'm working on. They're painted on handmade paper in acrylic and coloured pencil.
I'm not really sure where the idea for this picture came from, or why he's so fascinated by that fish bowl... perhaps a story will emerge from these pictures as I draw more of them. Here's the rough sketch that led to the finished illustration:
