Here's a World Cup-related gag cartoon that did the rounds but hasn't sold. I like it, so I thought I'd post it here.


I have to confess that this one is at least partly based on my own experience - at the moment I'm competing with a couple of friends to complete the Panini album. It's a tremendous waste of money and I always thought these things were for kids, but either way I'm hooked. If anyone reading this has a spare Gareth Barry, Antonio Di Natale or Australia shiny, please get in touch!

The cartoon didn't sell this time around, and we're far enough into the World Cup finals that most magazines would consider it too late to use it in their next issue, I expect. Still, I don't see the sticker manufacturers giving up their money-spinning trade any time soon, so I could always dust the cartoon off and re-submit it in four years. If it sells, I'll finally recoup some of the money I've spent on little sticky rectangles...
