One of my drawings has been featured on the excellent
Covered blog, for which illustrators, cartoonists and other artists reinterpret published comic book covers in their own styles.
I decided to cover one of the most iconic (and bizarre) images from one of my favourite series growing up - Amazing Spider-Man 121 (mine is the one on the right). It's already had some positive comments from other visitors to Covered.
As you can see, I kept a lot of the main design features (the idea of the project is that the 'covers' should not be an out-and-out parody, but should either simply present the original in the covering artist's own style or reinterpret it so that it's seen in a new light). This was a bit of fun, and something different from most of my paid cartooning work, and I think it turned out well.
Visit the
Covered blog to see larger versions, and to take a look at the contributions by other illustrators.
